Oggi un team di ricercatori dell’Università scozzese di St. Andrews ha deciso di fare il contrario: imparare il linguaggio gestuale degli scimpanzé. Osservando 80 esemplari nel loro ambiente naturale, la foresta di Budongo in Uganda, gli scienziati sono riusciti a realizzare quello che definiscono un autentico “dizionario” dei gesti dei nostri cugini più prossimi.

Prehistoric creature flew 25m years ago and had a wingspan twice that of the royal albatross, the largest bird alive.
A clutch of fossilised bones uncovered during the expansion of an airport terminal in the US may belong to the largest flying bird ever found.

The prehistoric creature had a wingspan of between 6.1 and 7.4 metres and could glide for long distances over the oceans as it searched for fish 25m years ago, according to scientists writing in the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences.

The grotto was discovered in 1835 by James Newlove, who broke through into its roof while digging a duck-pond. It is is an ornate subterranean passageway in Margate, Kent.
